I'm back

My apologies on the brief abandonment.

You have to understand, multitasking radio, concerts, and schoolwork leaves something bound to be left in the dusk. I'm working on reviews for the Jay-Z, Jack's Mannequin concerts which happened back in October at Penn State. All Points West is in progress. I'll also have Pitbull, GirlTalk* and a couple of bands I will be checking out next month. Stay tuned!

You can also catch me on-air, Sunday nights on The LION 90.7 FM.

*rumored performance sometime early December - keeping my fingers crossed on this!!

BLACKSTAR

I was lucky enough to get up front and center thanks to my friend Davey who scored the tickets to the show for free.

Better known as individual acts, Mos Def and Talib Kweli took the stage on May 30 at the Nokia Theatre in New York.

Joined by a couple of well-known local DJs, it was definitely a trip down memory lane. Just like back in the days of sitting in the park with your boys about to play ball or sitting with your girls watching the boys play ball, it was straight classic late 80s, early 90s style of hip-hop blasting from huge speakers.

Lots of NYU kids there with their reefer ablaze, lol. It was a great show when the guys took the stage. As a fan of Mos', I always love his energy. He's nonchalant in demeanor, but with FILLED with personality - a very vibrant personality that shines through on stage during performances especially.

Here is a quick video I posted to my YouTube:

Movin' On 2009

Some Downtown Avenue

Movin' On 2009 was held today. Despite the bitter cold weather and sunshine which happened to appear much later on in the day - the 12-hour long music festival was amazing! I was impressed with all the bands. I went through hell to get as close as possible as to the bands considering I was a street team member. It all worked out because I got to meet a couple of them!

Atlas Soundtrack (GREAT. GREAT. GREAT.)

Atlas Soundtrack

Person L
(Kenny Vasoli, who fronted The Starting Line)

Person L
(I'm in love. He's the nicest person ever. Really.)

Someone Say Something
(Tim Sussman - this guy is awesome.)

Unfortunately, I left during Innerparty system because it was so cold. I ended up missing out on the headliners The Spill Canvas and The White Tie Affair. My heart's not too broken about lol.

*Definitely check out their MySpace music pages of the above bands. You won't be let down.

Young Love

Young Love performed at PSU, February 6, 2009. I've loved him since he first stepped out as a solo artist back in '07. Indie-Electronic fans will love him too. He sounds just as great as he does on record while performing. He's got a great energy to him and despite the small crowd, got every one moving.
